Brandon Cruz
BIO
Brandon joins The Lighthouse Bali as Regional Director for North America, Wellness Consultant and Outreach Coordinator for Southeast Asia. He also lends his vast experience and education to the team in the form of clinical consultation for individual clients, with a focus on relapse prevention and aftercare.
With over 20 years of personal recovery, Brandon incorporates the 12 step philosophies in his life, as well as the Refuge Recovery program (the Buddhist meditation recovery model). He has worked with private clients in America, Canada, Europe, Central and South America, Asia and Australia, and has seen, first hand, the impact addiction has played worldwide. These experiences place him in a unique position to relate to clients from all walks of life.
Brandon has worked in the private treatment industry for many years and places the health, safety, welfare and anonymity of The Lighthouse client above all. His experience as a lifeguard, skater, surfer and musician lend a fun and interesting depth to his engaging personality – one he embraces fully as a result of recovery!
Giving back to the community has been something that comes naturally to Brandon. He lends his support to the Amy Winehouse Foundation (working towards prevention of drug and alcohol misuse in young people), TWLOHA, a US non-profit organization that focuses on those who struggle with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide, the Natural High Organization (focusing on addiction prevention and character development for youth), and, Surfrider Foundation (a grassroots non-profit environmental organization).
Brandon has joined forces with Danu Prasetyoko, embracing The Lighthouse Bali’s outreach efforts. Through their Indonesian non-profit, they provide education and support on substance abuse, addiction recovery, harm reduction practices, and HIV/AIDS in rural communities, prisons, schools and other locations around the island.
