Matt Murphy

Regional Director Australasia

Matthew Murphy, an Australian citizen, grew up in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs. He currently resides between the Indonesian island of Bali and a town on the border of Victoria and New South Wales in Australia.

Matthew has enjoyed over seven years of education and experience in the area of addiction treatment, in Australia and in Southeast Asia. He has a working knowledge of many treatment models, including 12 step philosophies, Motivational Interviewing, CBT techniques and more.

Matthew has a deep compassion, empathy and love for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. He is passionate about helping others discover recovery, both personally and professionally, while providing much needed support and information to the friends, loved ones and family members of the addict.

From a community outreach standpoint, Matthew enjoys travelling around Australia and Indonesia sharing his personal recovery story and life experiences, with the hope of helping others who may be suffering with similar issues of addiction. He has worked with those who live in poverty, volunteered at homeless shelters, and spent a great deal of time visiting orphanages all over Southeast Asia. As a father himself, Matthew has a special place in his heart for children in need.

As Regional Director of Australasia, Matthew focuses on reaching out to addicts and alcoholics, as well as their family members, in Australia, New Zealand and the neighboring islands in the Pacific Ocean. He understands that no matter where we come from, what we look like or what we do, there are people out there suffering just like he once was. Nothing pleases Matthew more than seeing someone turn a new leaf, take a new path in life and reconnect with their loved ones.
